Checking Acct Rights w/ a Bank Credit Card

I have my checking acct & credit card with Bank of America. I haven’t paid the credit card in 2 mos. Can they block my checking account until I pay the bill or do anything to my checking account since I didnt pay the credit card???

    Becky, you’ll have to read the credit card contract that you signed with BofA. Some banks include in the provision to take money from your savings and checking accounts to pay off your overdue credit card debt. It’s usually in the fine print.

    Even if you didn’t specifically agree to it, banks generally have the right to set off debts against deposits.
